323: Bram Stoker’s Dracula [1992] Movie Discussion

Happy Spooky everybody! This scary season we take a look at the king of all movie monsters in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, a film that seems to pay homage to all other Dracula movies that came before it whilst also being one of the closest adaptations of the original books (with a few bits added here and there). We’ve also noticed that we’ve been a little obsessed with Keanu Reeves in our 300s (spoiler: there’s more to come), though we all take delight in how miscast he is in this film.

322: Hoffa [1992] Movies Discussion

Break out your Bobby Kennedy impressions (the crew certainly did) and join as we explore the mysteries of Hoffa, a Danny DeVito directed biopic of Jimmy Hoffa’s life and supposed death. Never before has such a straight forward film been packed with so many details that we hardly know what or why things are happening or what the films is trying to say about its titular character. But do join us in our discussion where we find ourselves slightly distracted by prosthetics, mildly distracted by Danny DeVito being a tough guy and highly distracted by some terrible back drop paintings.

321: Johnny Mnemonic [1995] Movie Discussion

Before The Matrix, Keanu Reeves dipped his toe into strange high-concept Sci-fi with Johnny Mnemonic. Now, it might be a bit of a mouthful and steeped in that mid-90’s futuristic aesthetic that people either love or hate (we love it!), but it being set in 2021 certainly has us raising our eyebrows in how accurate some of it’s predictions are as well as Keanu Reeves seemingly channeling Nicholas Cage in a surprisingly animated and offbeat performance.

N.B. Abi and Jamie decided to do this podcast live from the Virtual Internet, so apologies for some of the robotic sound quality.
