297: The Swap [1979] Movie Discussion

Time for one of the most shameless films we’ve watched here at Spoiler Filled as we take a look at The Swap from 1979, a film which essentially steals Robert De Niro from another film and inserts him into itself only to be dispatched all too quickly. Oh the irony of him playing a film editor. But could it be that this cheap film has more going on for it than the original source film? Tune in to find out.

296: The Hidden Fortress [1958] Movie Discussion

All that the Spoiler Filled Crew know about Hidden Fortress (and seemingly the only fact anyone else cares about) is that it was a big inspiration on George Lucas when he made Star Wars. And trust us, we certainly delve into that topic many times in our discussion, but there is still plenty more this light-hearted Kurosawa romp has to offer.

295: Vive L’Amour [1994] Movie Discussion

Ah bonjour! Bienvenue dans notre petit podcast!
D’accord, this week we take a petit voyage au berceau de la culture. C’est la France, le coeur de l’europe…wait, the film is Taiwanese? In Mandarin? Sacre bleu, what a faux pas! Well, there is not much joie de vivre in this weeks film Vive L’amour, a film about 3 people all secretly and unknowingly sharing an apartment in the city of Taipei, all of whom seem to lack a raison d’étre.

294: Flatliners [1990] Movie Discussion

It’s spooky time again and this year we wanted to pay respect to the man who essentially kicked off our little podcast here: Joel Schumacher. He’s made some good films, he’s made some bad films, but they are usually very memorable. We may not all be in complete agreement as to his psycholigical horror film Flatliner’s quality, but we all will rememeber such things as: the most cliche sleazy back-alley in movie history, the best string of insults by a child in movie history and Kiefer Sutherland being beaten up by a kid.
