268: Romancing The Stone [1984] Movie Review

268 Romancing The Stone
This week Abi was hoping for a nostalgic flirtation with an old childhood favourate as she brings Romancing the Stone, an action-adventure romance movie, to the table. However, it seems a little more experience in the adventure genre over the years has revealed the flaws in this one. The crew are underwhelmed by Robert Zemeckis’ early action attempts, remember that Danny Devito is funny and short, wonder how many villain stereotypes can be wrapped up in one person and go on a weirdly long tangent on the beauty of the Welsh population.

Also, R.I.P Kirk Douglas, this podcast was recorded just before his passing.

Listen in now to hear a podcast within the podcast about the arguably more famous TV show follow-up that started in 1972 and for every scrap of trivia Abi and Jamie could think of to bamboozle Rich with about both the TV show and the film. There’s also a shout-out to art-historians, cumberland sausages and boiling fury as Abi realises she had the book all along and could have read it in time for the show.

Enjoy!
