We’ve tackled most of the classic movie monsters in the past and this time we sink our teeth into the Dracula story with Shadow of the Vampire. Well, not really Dracula, but a retelling of a retelling of Dracula which asks what if the actor Max Schreck, who played the classic vampire Nosferatu, was actually a vampire all along? Don’t worry, its not as confusing as it sounds.
We return to the films of Brian De Palma this week as we lay our steely gaze on Snake Eyes from 1998 and we soon discover that he still essentially makes cartoons. There’s also a lot of confusion this time around: confusion over the plot, confusion over what film he crew are actually watching and the inevitable confusion over Jamie’s theory of whether we’re watching Nic Cage or Nicholas Cage.
