In this episode of Spoiler Filled Film Conversation Hooray the movie is a cute and classic biker flick from 1953, featuring Lee Marvin, and is notable for its mildly rebellious petulant motor cyclists, its overly reasonable police officers, and its mysterious UK theatrical ban. Ghosts! Bill Cosby! A mess of a plot! ‘Ghost Dad’ is a strange beast of a comedy from 1990 starring Cosby and directed by the legend Sidney Poitier. Join Rich, Ant and Abi as they go over this lamentably bad film in the latest ‘Spoiler Filled Film Conversation Hooray’. Incidentally, ghosts aren’t real, and if you disagree then tell Rich so. Also, this episode (26) was recorded in 2013 before any news broke about the historical Bill Cosby scandal, so don’t expect any jokes or refinances on the topic, though no doubt the wise cracks would have been funny.
This time Spoiler Filled Film Conversation Hooray take on the movie ‘Rock & Rule’ from 1983. Buckle up your massive boots and break out the cat ears for this Canadian animation about a rock band in a future mutant society trying to stop a portal to a demon dimension being opened. This time in Spoiler Filled Film Conversation Hooray, we find Rich, Ant, Abi and Jamie jabbering on about tonal discordance, the escalation into gadgety lunacy, and an unexpected preoccupation with Bryan Brown and his pants in this 1986 thriller. Join Rich, Ant, Oli and Abi as they go over the unusual “The Secret Garden” from 1993 and debate just how little sense it makes and commiserate with poor Dickon as he’s discarded like a horse riding dolt with no further use at the end.
