265: The Name Of The Rose [1986] Movie Review

265 The Name of the Rose

This week Rich, Anthony and Abi tackle 1986’s The Name Of The Rose, starring everyone’s favourite octogenerian Scot, Sean Connery. Listen now to hear Abi chomping at the bit to call bullshit throughout, Rich’s inability to understand the concept of a conference and Anthony rightfully wax lyrical about F. Murray Abraham. (Fun fact: The F in F. Murray Abraham doesn’t stand for anything, he added it on so he’d have a cooler sounding name and it worked.) There’s also Abi’s favourite ‘Speculate on the book time!”, sadly marred by Abi suspecting it would be a book she wouldn’t like.

Enjoy!

264: Chronicles Of Riddick [2004] Movie Review

264 The C of Riddick

This week Rich, Abi and Jamie delve into four films condensed into one, The Chronicles of Riddick. There’s confusion, frustration and speculation galore as the trio try to unpick sense from nonsense and good ideas from god-awful ones. Listen in now to hear us talk about awkward homo-erotic undertones and even more awkward hetero-erotic untertones, the value of tight-lipped protagonists and how much better this would have been if Stone Cold Steve Austin was in it.

Enjoy!
